Vinci Construction gets ‘Exceptional’ score for hospital project
Vinci Construction UK achieved an ‘Exceptional’ score for its work at The Royal Oldham Hospital Phase 3, Women and Children’s project, scoring a total of 36 out of 40 from the Considerate Constructors Scheme report.
Vinci is in the process of building a new women and children’s facility at The Royal Oldham hospital. The project will complete in November, 2013.
The report was one of many conducted by the Considerate Constructors Scheme which determined the site’s direct and indirect, positive or negative effect on the general public, work force and environment. The scheme monitors the site against eight categories from a five-point scale; one being major non-compliance to five, exceptional measures taken. The eight categories include; considerate, environment, appearance, good neighbour, respectful, safety, responsible and accountable.
The Royal Oldham Phase 3 project received four or above in each of the eight categories.
Mark Thomas, regional director, Vinci Construction UK, Building Division North – commented: “It is excellent to see VINCI Construction UK staff and our sub-constructors environmentally conscious and sensitive of the project’s impact on communities. The high score in the Considerate Constructors report not only demonstrates the considerate practice of day-to-day activity but reflects a clean site that holds exceptional health and safety standards. We strive to uphold our meritorious standards and consistently drive for excellence.”
