Leicester Tigers
Monday, 07 December 2009
Founded in 1880, Leicester Tigers are one of the most successful and well known rugby clubs in the world. In order to bring their facilities in line with their expertise on the field the club have embarked on a multi million pound redevelopment of their Welford Road Stadium.

The first Phase, is the development of a new main stand to replace the existing wooden structure. Work on this phase will be completed soon with the addition of the impressive 10,732 seater ‘Caterpillar’ stand.Image

FWP have a strong track record in the sports stadium industry, with work including the successful redevelopment of Preston North End’s Deepdale Stadium, the proposed redevelopment of Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park home, as well as Doncaster Racecourse being one of a number of racecourses in our portfolio.

On the back of our experience and commitment built up through an extensive project base FWP were commisioned to work as both cost and Project Managers by Leicester Tigers.Image

When completed the state of the art, 30,000-seater stadium will provide Leicester Tigers supporters with the ultimate in match day comfort and should cement the club’s status as a world power in Rugby Union.Image

The 60m development – which will almost double capacity at Welford Road within the next decade – is leading a revolution in rugby stadia as Guinness Premiership teams recognise the need to upgrade their venues.Image
