Norfolk County Council are recieving new school sites across the region. PSC takes a closer look at the developments.
A new second generation partnering framework arrangement for Construction Works has begun. Six constructors; Morgan Ashurst (formerly Bluestone), Farrans, T Gills, RG Carter, Mansell and Kier Eastern have all been appointed to the framework to deliver construction projects, including schools, for Norfolk County Council. Within the framework, the NPS Design Teams strive to raise the design and build quality within the parameters of key drivers - budget and programme - by using performance monitoring, design review and best practice in the pursuit of continuous improvement. The new framework will build on the established foundations of team working - involving client and user from the outset with key objectives being the further development of supply chain relationships, supporting local initiatives and environmental issues. This follows a comprehensive and rigorous tendering process that followed EU legislation rules which overall took six months from start to finish. The framework deals with capital projects in excess of £300,000 (values below this are traditionally procured). |
